Drugs in NZ
The Drug Foundation firmly believes that knowledge and education about drugs are of utmost importance in reducing the risks to the individual and the community.
Communication that is non-judgemental and reasonable is an important method of minimising the risks of taking drugs. If you are concerned about your own drug use or that of those close to you, such as your children, students, friends or colleagues, please read this very useful advice on effective communication before passing on the following information about drugs.
If you have any doubts, it is important that you first seek advice from trained practitioners. To talk to someone about your or someone else’s drug use, or for contacts of your local counsellor or treatment provider, call the Alcohol Drug Helpline 0800 787 797 or visit www.addictionshelp.org.nz .
